We built The Cocoon Collective on a belief: that a well-designed community — one where the rules make sense, the consequences are fair, and the culture is genuinely good — produces better behavior than surveillance and punishment ever could.
These guidelines are not a list of things we don’t want. They are a description of the community we are building together. Every player, every parent, and every person on our team is part of that.
Immediate removal. No warnings. No appeals.
The following behaviors result in permanent removal from the Platform. These are not judgment calls — they are lines we will not negotiate across, regardless of circumstances, history, or explanation. Parents will be notified, and repeat offenses from new accounts will be referred to appropriate authorities where required.
Any attempt to contact, befriend, or communicate with a child in a manner that is romantic, sexual, or designed to establish a relationship outside the Platform. Any such incident will be reported to relevant authorities.
Creating, sharing, requesting, or discussing sexual content in any form within the Platform.
Language or behavior that targets a person based on their race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, disability, or any protected characteristic.
Disclosing, guessing at, or attempting to discover another player’s real name, school, address, phone number, or any other identifying information.
Soliciting or sharing external contact information — social media handles, phone numbers, email addresses, gaming platform IDs outside our system.
Any attempt to exploit, hack, or disable the Platform’s safety architecture — including the parent cipher system, moderation tools, or player identity protections.
Any statement — even if presented as a joke — that implies physical harm, threats toward a player’s family, or encouragement of self-harm. We take every such statement seriously.
These rules apply to every player, every session, every interaction. The standard is: would you say this in front of a six-year-old and a room full of their parents? If not, don’t say it here.
We believe in proportional, restorative responses — addressing what happened, why, and how to make it right. But proportionality has limits.
| Tier | Action | Details |
|---|---|---|
| First offense | Conversation + Warning | A moderation note on the account. Parents are informed. |
| Repeat or serious offense | Temporary Suspension | Suspended for an appropriate period. Parents notified; conversation required before reinstatement. |
| Persistent or severe | Permanent Removal | Account permanently closed. No refunds. Record retained for safety purposes. |
| Zero tolerance violations | Immediate Permanent Removal | No warning. No progression. Reported to authorities where legally required. |
Parents may appeal moderation decisions (other than zero-tolerance violations) within 14 days by contacting us at cocoon-help@outlook.com. We will review every appeal and respond within 7 days. Zero-tolerance violations are final and not subject to appeal.
If you observe any behavior that violates these guidelines — especially anything involving the safety of a child — report it to us immediately. You will never be penalized for reporting in good faith.
